Tunas Bangsa

Here are 2 photos from inside the Taman during last Saturday's National Day celebrations. We didn't have passes and weren't too sure if we could enter and take photos but 2 photographers who shall not be named kindly helped us out. Thank you!

Fire

Did you know that people with red hair are often referred to as redheads or gingers? Did you also know that red hair occurs in less than 1% of the human race whereby the highest portion can be found in Scotland and Ireland?

Faces of Kg Ayer

All Smiles...
It was great working with the kids... it makes one feel younger!

Who could it be? One of the She-Shoots perhaps?

Happy Host

A Natural @ Striking a Pose!
One of the warm and welcoming hostesses there.

A photo taken during our time at Kg Tamoi. This little girl was shy at first, hiding behind her probably grandmother's kain. Her grandmother told us that she's good at posing but I wasn't so sure since she looked a little reluctant. But as soon as she warmed up, voila!! Need I say more?

Congratulations

It was such a tiring and disappointing morning. The royal couple looked really beautiful decked out in dark red but I didn't get any nice photos of them. I did however, manage to get some photos of the palace. Sketch, how come I didn't see you there?

Of Walkways and Water

Late this morning O&L and I were in the area, so we decided to pop by Kg Tamoi, near Makam Di-Raja, for an impromptu outing. It was my second visit there and I thought that it would be better this time round, as in no more jitters on the wooden walkways but boy was I wrong! hahaha I almost turned back out of fear. It didn't help that I saw a lizard sprinting across the walkway at one point. The locals were even laughing at me saying, "Inda apa-apa ni, tagap ni!" hahaha Damn malu! O&L had to talk me out of turning back and it's a good thing that she did cos that place is like a photographer's playground. There were so many interesting things to shoot. They say a picture can tell a story, well this place has alot of stories to tell! The people there were friendly and obliging, even requesting for their picture to be taken.

Here are some of the snaps from this morning, more to come!

P.S. Thanks for the pointers regarding the sensor. I used my blower on it this morning and managed to get rid of some of the dust specks. I'll try again later.

Hearts & Bones and I had to run an errand early in the morning. And when I say EARLY, I meant around 9am on a weekend. It was a very hot morning and since we were already out, decided to stop at Kg. Tamoi or something like that at Kampung Ayer (Brunei's Venice). Below is one of the last pictures I took whilst there, on our way to the car sweating profusely! It was VERY hot!!! Even so, I was happy to have stopped over cos we met a few very friendly people who were willing to have their pictures taken. I overheard the mother telling the boy that we were taking pictures of them and I guess the boy was very intrigued he kept looking back!
He just knew where to look.
Mommy... I Spotted The She-Shoots Girls!!!
P/S: Sorry a little tilted, H&B said I should've used the crosshair. Next time lagi.

The Chaperone

Today's picture is a lil bit of nostalgia on my part. It is actually one of the very first photos taken with my 350D, and it sure feels like a long time ago.

I'm sure most of you can identify the location, if not, it was taken in The Empire's vast and splendid grounds. I noticed a young couple sitting under a tree, laughing and enjoying each other's company. Looked like any normal couple on a date but sitting very close by was an older lady, watching over them, listening in, sometimes laughing with them. My guess was that she was the chaperone, perhaps even the designated driver hehe. On their walk back, he had his arm around her and Madam Chaperone maintained her pace so they were always a step ahead of her. My companion and I made a lil joke, "Eh bedating kena jaga? Kesian perempuan atu jadi tiang lampu". I don't know if my technique has improved much since then but capturing moments like this is what I like best about photography. Even though it's been many months ago, everytime I look at the picture, it takes me back to that moment and puts a smile on my face.
