Everything's Rosy

Did you know that when you give someone roses, different colours signify different meanings?

Red is meant to show deep love while pink roses can mean either gentle feelings of love, gratitude or admiration. White roses may show innocence, purity or even secrecy. However, if you are a guy trying to court a girl (or vice versa), take care not to send her yellow flowers cos you would mean to say that your relationship is purely friends only.

I'm not the kind to take photos of flowers but this got me intrigued. They'll only bloom once and then die. And get this, they'll only bloom fully just before midnight! But if you try to catch them the next day, you won't find anything but the remains of what were once beautiful white flowers. Mom n dad said they're called Bunga Rajah/Raja. Hehe I guess the name suits them ;)

Scarlet Fever

Did you know that the colour red signifies a range of conflicting meanings? In most cases, the colour red is associated with danger and emotions such as desire and love. It can signify passionate love, yet also violence and warfare. Red is Cupid and also the Devil. Red can symbolise fire and heat but in astronomy, red stars are stars with the coolest temperatures. To “paint the town red” is to celebrate but to “see red” is to be angry. In the West, the colour red denotes debt while in China, profits are displayed in red and losses in green. Red is often the color worn by brides in the East while it is the color of mourning in South Africa. Whatever the colour red may mean to you, to me it signifies the little red ring on the end of that big white lens I so wish I could afford ;)
